The drive to the campsite
The drive from Dubai to Jebel Jais (UAE's tallest mountain) took us around 2 hours. There were a few people camping that weekend so be sure to go early to secure a good camping spot. Campsites tend to get busy during the cold winter months since its the best time to stay outdoors in the UAE. We saw a lot of camels and some donkeys along the way.
This camping ground is only accessible by 4x4.
Setting up camp before sunset
Tents, air mattresses (very important! Jebel Jais is a rocky mountain), pillows, duvets. It's nice to stay warm and cozy as it gets really windy at night.
We set up two bonfires, one for BBQ and another to sit around and keep us warm throughout the night.
There are no public restrooms. We brought our own portable shower, bidet and other bathroom essentials. Other necessary supplies/equipment include: Headlamps and first aid kit.
We had such an amazing time during our out-of-town adventure. Happy Camping!
